About Vattenhallen Science Center
Vattenhallen Science Center belongs to Lund University Faculty of Engineering (LTH) and is operated in collaboration with the Faculty of Science. Vattenhallen is an engaging interactive meeting place for the public, schools, the university, and the business community, where a variety of activities are offered in the premises with exhibitions on current technological development and scientific research.
To show our young visitors that they can study natural sciences and engineering, the operations rely on staff-intensive activities where hourly-paid students meet the visitors. Vattenhallen has become a great success with over 45,000 visitors per year from the entire region. Approximately 150 schoolchildren (ages 5–18) visit Vattenhallen every day, 4 students do internships every week, teachers come for further education, companies and organizations hold meetings, kick-offs, pentathlons, and parties. On weekends and school holidays, the premises are filled with families eager to experiment.
The operations currently consist of 15 employees, as well as approximately 40 student guides who assist visitors.
