Markverkstad Syd (Southern Maintenance Workshop)

Markverkstäderna (MvE) is a unit within the Army Staff (AST) that performs maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' ground equipment and air base equipment, and delivers technical system support. This involves maintenance in the form of inspection, repairs, manufacturing, dismantling/scraping, modifications, operational support, technical adaptation, and equipment inspection. The maintenance unit delivers services according to customer requirements.

You will belong to Markverkstad Syd, which operates in Tofta, Revingehed, Ronneby, and Karlskrona. The unit has approximately 160 employees.

Main Responsibilities

As a Weapons Technician, you will primarily work with preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs of weapons and optics. You will be part of a group of 14 employees, including 5 weapons technicians, and you will report to the Section Manager Special. Since the department also supports other units in Sweden with support and maintenance, some travel is included in the role. We offer internal training on systems and equipment as we work with unique products.

Work involving hardening plastics occurs at the workplace, which requires health examinations.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• At least a completed two- or three-year upper secondary education with a focus on technology or equivalent, or alternatively, competence acquired through professional experience assessed by the employer as equivalent.
• Experience in similar work.
• Computer skills with knowledge of the MS Office suite, primarily Word and Excel.
• Good knowledge of technology and troubleshooting.
• Category B driver's license.

You are flexible and can easily shift your focus and adapt to a changing environment. Merits

• Experience in maintenance of weapons, optics, or fine mechanics.
• Relevant experience working as a technician or mechanic in a similar field.
• Training, such as training organized by the Swedish Armed Forces in weapon systems, sensors, or optics.
• Experience from the Swedish Armed Forces and its procedures and support systems.
• Experience and knowledge of workshop operations and equipment maintenance in the Swedish Armed Forces.
• Forklift license.
• Category C or CE driver's license.

Other Information

• Employment type: Permanent employment starting with a 6-month probationary period.
• Working hours: Full-time, daytime – varying working hours may occur.
• Work location: Markverkstad Syd, Revingehed.
• Start date: As soon as possible after agreement.

The work also involves requirements for travel and duty, both domestic and international.
