RESPONSIBILITIES

Your Role

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for "Volunteer in Gävle," which recruits and matches volunteers to welfare services for seniors and private individuals aged 65 and older. The activities include recruiting and encouraging volunteers, recruiting and matching volunteers who assist seniors with digital skills, inventory of volunteer assignments, matching and facilitating contacts, marketing, and environmental scanning.

The Volunteer Coordinator collaborates closely with Välfärd's operations seeking volunteer support, associations, organizations, and with the volunteers who drive area-specific meeting points in the municipality. Collaboration with certain events may also occur.

The assignment includes the following:

• Plan, prepare, and conduct the annual volunteer festival on International Volunteer Day, together with the current steering group.
• Responsibility for program management, term meetings, and inspiration meetings for volunteers.
• Administration of the volunteer register and expressions of interest in the municipality's e-services.

In the role of Outreach Coordinator, you contact seniors of various ages and inform them about healthy aging. The goal is to establish contact and offer current information for health promotion purposes so that they feel secure in their daily lives and know where to turn when they need help. The operations work without documentation requirements and are subject to confidentiality.

The position belongs to the preventive operations at Välfärd Gävle.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a relevant university education with a social or pedagogical focus, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have experience in coordination and/or development work, as well as experience managing social media. A B-class driver's license is also required for the position.

Meritorious: Gävle Municipality is part of the Finnish administrative area. If you speak Finnish in addition to our other competence requirements, this is considered a merit.

The preventive operations are HBTQI certified, and therefore an area we actively work with. Our goal is to have norm awareness and competence within HBTQI to ensure equality and equal value for all.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
