Do you want to become part of an engaged and development-focused medical team? We are looking for a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry for a permanent position as a Consultant Physician (Överläkare) within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP). The position is tailored to the unit where you are placed, with good opportunities for adaptation based on your skills and interests.
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Örebro County (BUP) is part of the Psychiatry Area, a specialist department with approximately 900 employees. We consist of three outpatient clinics, an inpatient ward with six beds, and a day care unit for young children and their parents. All clinics are centrally located in Örebro city. We currently have 15 Consultant Physicians and 5 Specialist Trainee Doctors in a strong collegial team where, as a new employee, you will play an important role in both clinical work and development. All employees undergo an individually planned introduction with named support to facilitate their integration into the work.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Consultant Physician, you will work with:
- Diagnosis, investigation, and treatment of children and adolescents with mental health issues.
- Mentoring and education of medical students, BT (Basic Training), AT (Internship), and ST (Specialist Training) doctors.
- We have initiated a "gaffelmottagning" (split clinic) where Consultant Physicians work in a more consultative role and mentor junior doctors during visits. This working method will continue to expand and develop, utilizing your competence and knowledge to best support junior doctors.
- Consultative efforts and collaboration with other stakeholders.
- Participation in operational development and improvement work. You will have close contact with the unit manager, and your feedback will be driving force for changes.
We offer the possibility of partial remote work in the form of digital patient visits, treatment conferences, mentoring, and prescription renewals. All necessary equipment is provided by the employer.
Education and ResearchBUP Örebro has a close collaboration with the medical program at Örebro University. There are opportunities to engage in:
- Basic group mentoring
- Mentorship
- Research and development projects
We are currently making a special effort to increase research activity and knowledge development within the department.
On-call dutiesThe position includes evening and weekend on-call duties until 21:00. No night on-call duties are included.
Qualifications- Specialist Physician in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Good teamwork skills, sense of responsibility, and interest in development and mentoring.
Personal suitability is highly valued. We place great emphasis on teamwork and pedagogical approach, among other things, to support junior colleagues in the ongoing split clinic. Flexibility is requested as we have many projects to develop care within child and adolescent psychiatry and the employees' work environment.

About the DepartmentThe Psychiatry Area in Örebro County is a specialist department within the Health and Medical Care Administration that offers care when someone suffers from mental ill health. We do this through collaboration within and between our five operational areas, as well as with patients, relatives, user organizations, and other stakeholders. We have a well-functioning educational environment for practice-based education and contribute to the development of new competence through our research activities. Together, we are approximately 900 employees.
