The Education Administration is responsible for preschools, comprehensive schools, special needs schools, upper secondary schools, and special needs upper secondary schools. Responsibilities also include student health services, mother-tongue instruction, school transport, and school meals. We are currently seeking a school bus driver for a fixed-term position of 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

The Workplace

Trelleborg Municipality’s school transport service is part of the Education Administration and falls under the Service and Support Department, led by the Operations Manager and Unit Manager. The operation manages its own fleet of school buses, transporting approximately 700 students to and from school daily.

As a school bus driver, you will be part of a team. You will be welcomed by a cheerful group with broad competence and strong cohesion, where we all contribute to each other’s work environment. Responsibilities

As a school bus driver, your main task is to safely transport students between home and school, as well as to and from various daytime activities. Other types of transport may also occur, such as study visits and excursions throughout Skåne.

You are part of a school municipality to be reckoned with and thrive working with children and young people.

Within the team, there are various areas of responsibility, such as traffic assessments, invoice processing, purchasing, and development work based on politically decided guidelines for school transport in Trelleborg.

In addition to the driving role, you are expected to take responsibility for maintenance, such as washing and cleaning the buses, and performing minor repairs. You plan your workday independently based on assigned tasks and have knowledge of the Swedish Transport Agency’s regulations regarding driving and rest times.

The school buses are stationed in central Trelleborg, but you must be prepared to start from various locations within the municipality.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have experience as a bus driver in varying traffic environments. Experience with school transport and excellent service skills towards children and young people are meritorious.

The role requires good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as you will interact with students, guardians, and colleagues, and need to read instructions, documentation, and routines.

Good local knowledge of Trelleborg and the Söderslätt area is meritorious. Knowledge that can contribute to the operation, such as vehicle maintenance, administration, or other areas relevant to the position, is also meritorious.

You are comfortable with and curious about digital tools, as we use operational systems, digital driver support, and communication via Teams.

To fit the role of school bus driver with us, you need to have a high sense of service and good teamwork skills. You are a skilled and responsible driver who always prioritizes safety. You enjoy working with children and young people, are flexible, and have a willingness to contribute actively when the operation requires it.

A Category D driving license, a digital driver card, and a valid professional competence certificate for buses are required.
