Our Mission
On the national department Support and Matching, we provide remote service and support to job seekers. We work with several important areas of responsibility such as matching, guidance, and counseling, as well as decisions on measures for job seekers. Our main task is to reduce the time spent in unemployment.
Our Workplace
You will be part of a management group with several colleagues who have offices in other locations. Together, we work towards common goals and can always count on each other's support in our daily work. Our leadership style is result-oriented, proactive, close, and coaching, encouraging participation, motivation, and responsibility.
Responsibilities of the Unit Manager
Your role as Unit Manager involves overall operational, budget, and personnel responsibility. You are responsible for ensuring that the unit's results meet established goals.
As a Unit Manager, you are part of the Department Director's management group and, together with this person and the other Unit Managers, you will be responsible for the department's results and development. You have an important task in creating a well-functioning management group and, together with section managers, drive and develop the unit, which consists of approximately 200 employees. The employees are located in both Gothenburg and Skara, and you are expected to work in both locations.
You enable good performance, high job satisfaction, and a good work environment by working in accordance with the Swedish Public Employment Service's leadership criteria. Your work takes place in strong partnership within and outside your own department and in good cooperation with trade union partners. Our Offer
This is a permanent full-time position that may start with a six-month probationary period. The location of employment is Örebro or Karlskoga.
We offer you the opportunity to work in a workplace where we value balance between work and private life. You will have access to a generous vacation agreement and flexible working hours. After a few months, once you have familiarized yourself with the operations, there is an opportunity to enter into an agreement for remote work of up to 49%, provided that the operations allow it.

Basic Requirements for the Position
At least one year of current experience in:
- Leadership with operational and personnel responsibility within the Swedish Public Employment Service
Or
- Leadership at a corresponding level with operational and personnel responsibility from another organization
Other Merits for the Position
- Good knowledge of labor market issues and the labor market policy mandate
- Experience of working in the public sector as well as good experience of exercising public authority
- Experience of cooperation and collaboration with suppliers
- Experience of successfully working with goal and result fulfillment
- Experience of indirect leadership
