Cemetery Manager (100%) sought for Svalövsbygdens Pastorate

Do you want to lead an operation where responsibility, meaning, and long-term sustainability are at the center? Svalövsbygdens Pastorate is now seeking a Cemetery Manager with overall responsibility for funeral services and property management. This is a role for you who wish to combine leadership, structure, and development work in an activity that has great significance for people – at all stages of life.

About the position

As Cemetery Manager, you lead and develop the pastorates' funeral services and property management together with dedicated employees. You have overall responsibility covering both daily operations and long-term development.

You work closely with the parish priest, the management group, and elected officials, contributing to creating structure, good collaboration, and sustainable working methods. The assignment is both strategic and operational.

You have personnel responsibility for church sextons, parish hall hosts, as well as seasonal employees and summer substitutes.

The position also includes responsibility for the maintenance and development of the pastorates' cemeteries and green areas, where quality, dignity, and long-term sustainability are in focus.

Svalövsbygdens Pastorate comprises nine churches, a burial chapel, and several buildings.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and develop funeral services
  • Manage and develop churches, chapels, parish halls, and other buildings
  • Be responsible for cemeteries and outdoor environments with a focus on quality and sustainable maintenance
  • Work with budgeting, follow-up, and financial planning
  • Lead projects and investments
  • Handle KAE cases (Swedish Church Tax and Fees) and contact with authorities
  • Be responsible for work environment (SAM) and systematic fire protection (SBA)

It is an advantage if you have experience of funeral services, property management, or work with cultural-historical buildings.

Qualifications and terms

  • Driver's license and own car are required
  • You share the values of the Church of Sweden
  • Supervisor training or equivalent experience is required
  • Personal suitability is highly valued

The position is a permanent full-time employment. Probation period may apply.

Start date: During autumn 2026.
