ToppTalent is now recruiting a fine carpenter on behalf of a client: a small, established carpentry company in Skogås, approximately 20 minutes by car from Stockholm Central Station. The company has roots dating back to 1986 and a long background in interior woodwork. This role is for you if you want to continue working practically with fine carpentry in the workshop, but also appreciate a broader daily routine involving customer visits, measuring, drawing support, and some administration.
The company name is presented early in the process for candidates who progress in the selection.
About the role
The company currently works primarily with finishing apartment doors and security doors for construction companies, security door manufacturers, property owners, and housing cooperatives. A large part of the work involves decorations, profiles, profile lists, moldings, and other details that allow doors to fit into older environments. When production allows, special carpentry and finer interior work are also performed.
The role combines traditional fine carpentry in the workshop with customer visits, measuring, simpler drawing support, customer contact, and some administration. Most of the time, you work practically in the carpentry shop based on work orders and production flow. The work is primarily focused on traditional fine carpentry and practical machine work, rather than pure CNC-controlled series production. A significant part of the work takes place at the milling machine, where various profiles are created.
In the workshop, you work with preparing materials, milling profiles, profile lists, moldings, and details for doors, as well as processing, sanding, and preparing for varnishing or painting. The work is carried out in panel materials, veneered panel materials, wood, oak, and pine.
A part of the role involves site visits to customers for measuring. In total, this usually amounts to about one working day per week, distributed according to customer needs and ongoing jobs. During these visits, you measure doors, profiles, lists, or other details and prepare documentation for production, often through hand-drawn and dimensioned sketches.
The role also includes about one hour of administration per day. This can involve customer emails, simpler job documentation, order documentation, drawing support, as well as saving, naming, and organizing drawings, folders, and job documentation digitally.
You also help with internal logistics in the workshop, such as unloading and loading pallets, moving door pallets, and organizing materials in production. The work may involve handling heavy and bulky door pallets, making precision and safety important even in these tasks.
MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS
- At least 3 years of experience in fine carpentry, interior carpentry, furniture carpentry, or another similar environment
- Ability to work carefully and independently in a workshop environment
- Practical experience with machine work in a carpentry environment, especially some form of milling work
- B driver's license and good Swedish language skills (spoken and written)
ADVANTAGEOUS
- Experience with larger adjustable saws, joining, and other carpentry machines
- Experience handling customer emails, simpler order documentation, and administrative documentation in a practical workflow
- Experience with doors, profiles, older environments, or custom-made carpentry
- Experience making customer visits, measuring, sketching, and preparing production documentation
- Knowledge of CAD or other drawing programs
- Forklift license
Education and experience
Relevant education in fine carpentry, furniture carpentry, interior carpentry, or another wood technology focus is advantageous but not an absolute requirement. Documented practical experience in fine carpentry or a similar environment can weigh equally.
As a person
You are careful, quality-conscious, and practical. You enjoy work where precision, material feel, and details are important parts of the final result.
You are curious and willing to learn new ways of working. You can work independently in the workshop, but are also comfortable asking, discussing, and seeking help when needed.
You are responsible and helpful in a small team. The role suits you if you enjoy focused workshop work but are also social enough for customer contact, measuring, and simpler dialogue with customers.
The role can suit both an experienced fine carpenter who wants a broader role with more variation and a younger candidate with a few years of relevant experience, the right drive, and a clear aptitude for the craft.
