Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a product development and engineering team focused on designing, enhancing, and optimizing mechanical systems and structures. The successful candidate will contribute to innovative development projects, supporting the creation of new products and the improvement of existing mechanical designs within a robotics and industrial engineering environment.

This role requires strong technical expertise in mechanical design, engineering analysis, and product development, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. The engineer will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, business objectives, and applicable technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in development projects involving the design, enhancement, and optimization of mechanical structures and components.
• Create, modify, and improve machinery, equipment, and mechanical products based on project requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations, technical evaluations, and design analyses to support product development activities.
• Utilize engineering software and computer-based tools to prepare technical reports, documentation, and design assessments.
• Independently execute engineering tasks requiring sound judgment and application of established engineering principles.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage complex engineering activities across one or multiple technical disciplines.
• Conduct technical investigations and feasibility studies to identify effective engineering solutions.
• Develop recommendations based on engineering best practices, business objectives, and regulatory considerations.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams and cross-functional stakeholders to achieve project goals and deliverables.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to mechanical design performance, manufacturability, and reliability.

Required Experience

• Minimum 6+ years of experience within Mechanical Design Engineering or a related engineering discipline, combined with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.

OR

• A technical qualification with a minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience.
• Proven experience working in mechanical product development and engineering design environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise in SolidWorks for mechanical design and modeling.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

OR

• Equivalent technical qualification supported by extensive industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications

The following experience will be considered an advantage:

• Knowledge of moving cable harness systems.
• Experience with casting and machining processes.
• Understanding of gear systems and gear wheel design.
• Experience designing moving mechanical structures and assemblies.
• Previous experience within Mechanical Research & Development (R&D).
• Exposure to robotics or automated industrial systems.
