Staff Officer to the Implementation Department at MSS Headquarters in Kvarn
Would you like to be an employee at the Implementation Department of the Army Combat School's (MSS) headquarters in Kvarn and be part of leading and coordinating the Army Combat School's operations?
The role of the Army Combat School (MSS) is to create the prerequisites, together with other parts of the army, for land combat units to solve their assigned tasks in the best possible way, both nationally and internationally. MSS also performs tasks for the entire Swedish Armed Forces, such as the development and procurement of soldier-carried equipment, small arms, and support weapons. Within this framework, the Army Combat School trains the Armed Forces' future commanders using advanced training facilities and extensive knowledge.
The Army Combat School is seeking a career officer who wishes to serve at the Implementation Department of the MSS headquarters in Kvarn. The Army Combat School is organized with a headquarters, a development unit, a training unit, a training center, and the cadre staff of the 1st Division. MSS operations are conducted in both Skövde and Kvarn. The MSS headquarters consists of approximately 29 employees and is divided into seven departments under the leadership of the Chief of Staff. The position is located at the MSS headquarters' Implementation Department, which has personnel in both Skövde and Kvarn. At the Implementation Department in Skövde, there are a Chief, a Staff Officer, a Traffic Safety Officer, an Administrator, and an IT Manager. In Kvarn, there are an Operational Safety Officer, an Administrator, and the vacant position of Staff Officer.
Main Responsibilities
As a Staff Officer at the Implementation Department, you will work both independently, by leading preparations within the headquarters, and/or in temporarily assembled working groups within MSS. The work will vary in nature and scope, where a flexible approach and task adaptation are prerequisites for achieving expected results. The position of Staff Officer also includes supporting the Security Department at the MSS headquarters as Deputy Security Officer in Kvarn, as well as being able to participate in exercise leadership during exercises.
Requirements
- Career Officer SO7 – OF2.
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
- Good computer skills in the Swedish Armed Forces' IT systems.
- Category B driver's license, manual transmission.

- Experience of working in a headquarters at battalion/regiment level.
- Experience of short- and long-term planning.
- Experience of implementation leadership at battalion/regiment level.
