The Special Air Wing in Linköping is growing and is currently recruiting. The wing is part of the Skaraborg Air Wing (F 7) with operations based in Linköping/Malmen. The Special Air Wing is one of Sweden's most experienced combat units and conducts daily operational air activities with the S102B signals intelligence aircraft, the S100D radar surveillance aircraft, and the TP100 transport aircraft. The unit also provides aircraft maintenance services and manages continuing airworthiness.

The Special Air Wing is a combat and operational unit that can be deployed nationally and internationally with short notice. The operations are dynamic and conducted at a high pace, with high demands on quality, precision, and safety. High flight safety is central to all activities.

The Special Air Company consists of two aircraft maintenance platoons and a material platoon. The aircraft maintenance platoons handle maintenance in the hangars and assign flight mechanics during flights. The material platoon serves as the wing's logistical resource, performing forward maintenance on type-specific and general aviation and base equipment, as well as planning and ordering heavy maintenance.

Main Responsibilities
Lead own operations within a given task and area of responsibility, including personnel and employer responsibility. Responsible for planning, implementation, follow-up, and reporting against set goals within the framework of applicable regulations and safety requirements.

Lead, under the combat wing commander, the development, training, exercises, and readiness of own unit parts within the Special Air Wing. Participate in F 7 aircraft maintenance leadership for mission and resource planning.

Requirements
Qualifications

• Officer degree (OF 2) or specialist officer degree (SO 7).
• Experience in personnel leadership.
• Passed FM FysS (Swedish Armed Forces Physical Fitness Test).
• Category B driver's license for manual transmission.
• Swedish citizenship and passed security and background check.

Meritorious

• Aircraft technician education or other relevant aviation technical education (e.g., functional training for aircraft maintenance officers).
• Previous experience as a platoon commander in aircraft maintenance.
• Experience in leading military aircraft maintenance.
• Good knowledge of governing regulations (RML, EMAR).
• Good knowledge of FM's IT systems (PRIO, Fenix, CMP).

The Skaraborg Air Wing (F 7) is a versatile and unique air wing. It hosts combat aircraft as well as the Swedish Armed Forces' combined resources for transport and special air operations. We conduct basic and position-specific training for conscript recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit participates in many operations. In Sweden, operations are located in Såtenäs, Malmen, Arlanda, and Karlsborg. Abroad, we are responsible for Gripen support in Thailand and for the Swedish personnel at the international transport air cooperation Heavy Airlift Wing in Hungary.
