About the workplace
Svea Court of Appeal is the country's largest court of appeal with approximately 480 employees. The court's main task is to review cases and matters that have been appealed from the district courts within the court's jurisdiction.
Svea Court of Appeal consists of nine judicial divisions as well as an administrative unit. At the administrative unit, there is, among other things, a section for service and security (just over 20 employees). The section includes court ushers (security guards), support technicians, expedition caretakers, and administrators for lay judge support.
The group of court ushers, responsible for the court's security work, currently consists of 9 employees, all of whom are appointed security guards.

Job Responsibilities
The position of security guard/court usher involves varied work with diverse tasks based on what is needed for the court's core activity, i.e., adjudication, to function in a safe and efficient manner.
The emphasis is on preventive security work and service for the court's staff as well as parties and others visiting the court. We value and place great importance on leveraging each other's strengths in the group through good cooperation, problem-solving, and clear communication.
Your main responsibilities include, among other things:
- Ensure the safety of the court's employees, visitors, and premises regarding order, security, and fire protection.
- Receive visitors and staff the security checkpoint.
- Staff the reception, which involves handling various incoming matters and providing service to visitors.
- Handle alarms, access control systems, and CCTV.
- Be responsible for preparations in hearing rooms and provide technical support in these.
- Other administrative and internal service tasks may occur.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with:
- Swedish citizenship
- Valid security guard appointment with authorization for security checks
- Completed upper secondary education
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing
- Good computer skills
- Full color vision (as work with X-ray equipment requires this)
The following are meritorious:
- Experience from work within the court system, preferably in a court of appeal, with knowledge of common administrative tasks.
- Experience with video conferencing technology, CCTV, and alarm handling.
- Training in court X-ray technology.
To succeed in the role, it is crucial that you have a high degree of maturity, are service-oriented, and communicate in a clear and trustworthy manner, as the work involves many contacts both internally and externally. You take responsibility for your tasks and show strong initiative by taking the lead and driving your work forward.
You are structured in your approach to work and have the ability to handle varying questions and tasks. You are flexible and open to supporting operations where needs arise. Furthermore, you have a technical interest and are comfortable working in various systems that support your daily work.
Great importance will be attached to your personal qualities.
To be considered for employment, you must meet high demands regarding judgment, responsibility, security awareness, and suitability. This means you uphold democratic values and the public sector values that govern the operations of Swedish courts. The public sector values include the six principles of democracy, legality, objectivity, freedom of opinion formation, respect, as well as efficiency and service. We also require you to follow Swedish laws. In accordance with the court's employment procedures and suitability requirements, the court will conduct register checks prior to any potential employment.

Salary: Monthly salary. Individual salary setting is applied within the Swedish Courts.
Employment Type: Permanent employment.
Duration: Permanent. We apply a 6-month probationary period.
