Staff Officer to the Implementation Department at MSS Headquarters in Kvarn

The School of Infantry's (MSS) role is to create the conditions for ground combat units to solve their assigned tasks in the best possible way, both nationally and internationally, in collaboration with other parts of the Army. MSS also handles tasks for the entire Swedish Armed Forces, such as the development and procurement of soldier-carried equipment, small arms, and support weapons. Within this framework, the School of Infantry educates the Armed Forces' future leaders using advanced training facilities and extensive expertise.

The School of Infantry is seeking a professional officer who wishes to serve at the MSS headquarters' Implementation Department in Kvarn. The School of Infantry is organized with a headquarters, a development unit, an education unit, a training unit, and the cadre staff of the 1st Division. MSS operations are conducted in both Skövde and Kvarn. The MSS headquarters consists of approximately 29 employees and is divided into seven departments under the leadership of the Chief of Staff. The position is located at the MSS headquarters' Implementation Department, which has personnel in both Skövde and Kvarn. At the Implementation Department in Skövde, there is a Chief, a Staff Officer, a Traffic Safety Manager, an Administrator, and an IT Manager. In Kvarn, there is a Business Safety Officer, an Administrator, and the vacant position of Staff Officer.

Main Responsibilities

As a Staff Officer at the Implementation Department, you will work both independently, by leading preparations within the headquarters, and/or in temporarily assembled working groups within MSS. The work will vary in nature and scope, where a flexible approach and task adaptation are prerequisites for achieving expected results. The role of Staff Officer also includes supporting the Security Department at the MSS headquarters as Deputy Security Manager in Kvarn, and participating in exercise leadership during exercises.

Requirements

• Professional Officer SO7 – OF2.
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
• Good computer skills in the Swedish Armed Forces' IT systems.
• Category B driver's license, manual transmission.
