We are now looking for a Kitchen Assistant for the kitchen at Bergvretenskolan. The position is a full-time fixed-term position.

Bergvretenskolan is one of Enköping's largest schools with approximately 825 students, of whom about 320 children are enrolled in after-school care. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served in the school restaurant every day. The kitchen also prepares meals for a smaller primary school and two preschools.

The meal service in Enköping Municipality consists of approximately 95 employees distributed across 31 kitchens within preschools, schools, and elderly care. Together, we serve around 8,000 meals every day with a focus on quality, sustainability, and good taste.

At Bergvretenskolan, you will become part of a dedicated team consisting of a kitchen manager, chefs, and kitchen assistants who work together to provide our guests with a positive meal experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of Kitchen Assistant, you will have a varied job where you are an important part of the kitchen's daily operations. Among other things, you will:

Be responsible for the salad buffet, including planning based on the season.
Process orders and purchases.
Perform simple cooking tasks, such as boiling potatoes and rice, preparing cold sauces, and baking.
Staff the serving counter during lunch service.
Present the food and answer questions from students and staff.
Participate in work related to food hygiene, self-control, and special diet management.

Together with your colleagues, you work towards our common goal: to serve delicious, nutritious, and sustainable meals to our guests.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have:

Upper secondary education within the Hotel and Restaurant program or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
At least three years of experience working in a large kitchen.
Good knowledge of food hygiene.
Good knowledge of allergies, intolerances, and special diets.
Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Your personal qualities are also important to us. We therefore look for someone who is passionate about good food and always wants to provide the best service to guests. You are a good team player who contributes to a pleasant atmosphere at work. You are also good at keeping your cool even in stressful situations and have an extra gear to shift when needed.
