Meal Service is a unit within the Municipal Executive Office that operates restaurants and kitchens in preschools, primary schools, high schools, senior restaurants, and residential care facilities. Meal Service offers career opportunities for those who are passionate about cooking and service. With us, you have great opportunities to develop and grow in your professional role.

At the Kvarngärdet School Restaurant, we serve approximately 700 meals every day, and you will work alongside a few colleagues. We continuously develop our operations to stay at the forefront and are gradually increasing our organic purchases. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, but weekend work may occur.

Description of Duties

As a chef with us at Meal Service, you must be able to plan, prepare, and cook various meals according to the Meal Service menu, as well as plan and make food purchases together with the other chefs in the kitchen. Taking responsibility for HACCP and actively working on reducing waste is seen as a given. Baking bread and presenting the food in an appealing manner when serving guests are also standard tasks for a chef with us. The position also requires good knowledge of special diet handling.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have chef training, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have documented experience working as a chef and good knowledge of handling special diets. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a prerequisite for the position.

The following are considered meritorious:

• Training in special diets.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft 365.
• Training in needs-adapted nutrition.
• Knowledge of diet data systems.
• Category B driver's license.
