The kitchen at Malma School is a receiving kitchen currently serving approximately 450 meals per day to lower and middle school students. We serve lunch and snacks. A total of three meal assistants work at Malma. As a meal assistant at Meal Service, you work both in serving, where you meet guests directly, and with dishwashing and cleaning.

Working hours: 10:30 AM – 3:00 PM (including a 30-minute break). We work closely with our guests, are there for them, and create a pleasant dining experience. This position is a part-time temporary replacement (50%) with a start date of 2026-08-17 and an end date of 2026-12-18.

Description of duties

You work together with other meal assistants in the school kitchen. You have a rotating schedule. Your duties include working in the serving area, refilling the salad bar, dishwashing, and other routine kitchen tasks. You should be able to present the food in an appealing way when serving guests.

We think sustainably and measure waste daily, which is reported in Mateo. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for the operation's self-control program and perform daily checks documented in I-Facts. It is important to have knowledge about the ingredients in the food and be able to report them so that guests are guaranteed an allergy-safe and pleasant meal. It also involves maintaining close contact with students and educators to ensure the best possible dining experience.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a high school diploma; some form of service training is meritorious. To succeed in the position, you have several years of experience in service professions. As a person, you are outgoing and socially active in your work. You easily make contact with others and maintain relationships. Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
