The Centre for Laboratory Animal Science at Uppsala University (CFV) is currently seeking a Laboratory Animal Technician. CFV is responsible for the development and operation of animal-based research and teaching at the university. The centre comprises approximately 30 employees and has an annual turnover of approximately 75 million SEK.

Responsibilities

In the role of Laboratory Animal Technician, you will be part of the department's work within the laboratory animal field. Your main tasks include:

• Daily work with the care and supervision of various animal species provided within CFV. This includes housing, handling of animal deliveries, record keeping, ID marking, sampling, and other assistance to researchers in their laboratory animal activities.
• Performing various types of reporting and data entry in the software program Tick@lab.
• Participating in dishwashing and cleaning routines.
• Working in other animal departments within CFV as needed.
• Participating in weekend duty schedules and working on public holidays and long weekends as needed.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a high school diploma or equivalent, such as completed training as a Laboratory Animal Technician. You must have good ability to communicate and formulate yourself in both Swedish and English, orally and in writing.

Merits

• Good computer skills.
• Previous experience working with laboratory animals, preferably rodents and fish.
• Experience or training in the software program Tick@lab.

You are meticulous, have good organizational skills, and are able to formulate and adapt messages to different target groups. About the position

The position is a fixed-term appointment for the period 2026-08-17 to 2026-11-10. The position is 100%. Start date 2026-08-17 or as agreed. Location: Uppsala.
