About Knowledge & Development Breeding
Knowledge & Development Breeding is a central part of Växa's operations, working to develop, calculate, and make breeding values accessible, as well as to translate data and research into practical use for advisors and farmers.
The operation is data-driven and based on extensive information about Swedish cattle, including production, health, pedigree, and genetic traits. Through analysis, modeling, and tool development, decision support is created that contributes to improved animal health, increased productivity, and long-term sustainability in animal production.
The business area plays an important role in Nordic and international collaborations, particularly in breeding valuation and method development, and serves as a knowledge bridge between research, development, and practical advisory work. Most employees are located in Uppsala.
To fit the role, you should:
- Have a relevant academic education, such as an agronomist, animal scientist, or equivalent
- Have a strong interest in breeding, biology, data, and the development of agriculture
- Have a great interest in people and leadership
- Be unpretentious and have a strong commitment to both the business and your employees
- Have good communication skills and be able to express yourself well in Swedish and English
The following are further merits:
- Experience in leading operations or projects
- Previous experience as a manager
- Experience with budgeting, follow-up, and result responsibility
- Experience from specifying requirements for IT development
- A broad network within the agricultural industry, research, or related fields
- Experience working in knowledge- or data-driven organizations
Personal qualities
As a person, you are goal- and result-oriented with a strong drive to develop the business forward. You are business-minded, strategic, and solution-oriented. You see opportunities in change and have the ability to engage and motivate others. You are a clear and communicative leader who builds trust and collaboration, both internally and externally.
