Do you have experience working in a barn? Are you interested in managing the daily care of Uppsala Vocational High School's farm animals and barn facilities? Then you might be the person we are looking for!

Uppsala Vocational High School Jälla is a vocational high school with many different programs, including the Natural Resource Program. The school is associated with a large farm that supports the school's practical education in animal husbandry and cultivation. We have approximately 100 dairy cows.

We are now looking for an animal caretaker for a fixed-term position (substitute).

Description of duties

As an animal caretaker, you will work with milking our cows and managing the daily care of the animals and the barn. You will also be involved in the education process when students have practice time and workplace-based learning (APL) in the barn, where you will provide guidance and instruction.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience working in a barn, who holds a B-category driver's license, and has good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. Experience working with cows and tractor driving is advantageous. Additionally, experience working with young people or as an instructor is a plus. We also appreciate if you have some computer skills.

You are self-motivated and take responsibility for your tasks by structuring your work independently and driving processes forward. You are flexible and adaptable to changing conditions, while seeing opportunities in change. You have good collaboration skills and work cooperatively and smoothly with others through clear communication and a constructive attitude. With pedagogical insight, you adapt your way of conveying information based on the recipient's needs and prerequisites. You also demonstrate good judgment by making well-considered prioritizations and decisions, even in situations with complex information.
