Nytorp Free School is located in Arbrå, situated in the Ljusnan valley, offering a varied landscape and rich wildlife.

The school has existed since 1946 and is characterized by a secure, family-like atmosphere. We are a small, happy team working closely with students to ensure accessibility, participation, and goal achievement. The school offers two upper secondary programs: Nature and Agriculture (with a focus on agriculture and nature tourism) and Construction and Infrastructure (with a focus on construction machinery).

In our view, the school has an important societal function in addition to its general knowledge mission: educating young people for jobs in sustainable agriculture and vibrant rural life, or meeting the increased demand for skilled machine operators in the construction industry.

The school is in constant development and full of hope for the future. Because the school is small, employees have significant influence in making the school an attractive workplace and a good educational alternative for today's youth. The job offers close relationships with both students and colleagues. There are currently about 100 students at the school.

The school farm currently comprises approximately 70 hectares of arable land, 20 dairy cows, 25 ewes, and some small animals. Practical teaching in milk and pig production takes place at the school's partner farms.

As our animal caretaker/instructor will be reducing their hours for the autumn term, we are now looking for a part-time position at half-time to cover the gap.

Job Description

In the role of instructor at the school farm, you are part of a work team within the agricultural education program. Instructors and teachers work in close cooperation to provide students with the knowledge required by the education. The position primarily involves instructing in the school's animal stables and at the school's partner farms. Daily animal care and animal responsibility. We value broad knowledge in the applicant, as tractor driving and crop cultivation may also be included. This is a holiday cover position, and inconvenient working hours may occur, such as evenings and weekends during peak seasons.

Permanent employment, part-time (50%), with a probationary period. Start date by agreement.

Qualifications

You who apply for the position should have at least upper secondary education or equivalent in agriculture with animal care. You must also have professional experience in animal care, and preferably in tractor driving. Previous experience in teaching and working with youth is an advantage. You must be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. As a person, we want you to be proactive and have the ability to collaborate. You are structured and have a knack for solving problems when they arise. Last but not least, you have a positive, pedagogical, and safety-conscious attitude. A B-class driver's license is required.
