Job Responsibilities

As a Forklift Operator at Derome, you play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of operations. You drive a 12-ton forklift and ensure that the right timber is in the right place at the right time. Your primary responsibility is loading trucks. By working proactively, you help prevent stoppages and create a steady, efficient workflow.

The work is varied – in addition to operating the forklift, you may also work inside the facility as needed. You are attentive to deviations, contribute to order and cleanliness, and participate in improvement initiatives that contribute to both business development and a good working environment.

You are part of a team where collaboration, dialogue, and a shared responsibility for a safe workplace are a natural part of everyday life.

Qualifications

We place greater emphasis on your personal qualities and attitude than on previous experience. You will receive the introduction you need to get started in the role. A forklift license is an advantage, but not a requirement.

About Us

Derome makes more of the forest. We harvest trees in our local area and process them in our own sawmills. Approximately half of the timber is exported, and the remainder is sold through our own building supply stores and to our industry colleagues. Within our Timber organization, you will be part of a team of timber specialists who are passionate about close and long-term customer relationships.
