About the position
The Health Professions Unit plays a crucial role in the care provided at Karolinska University Hospital. We are currently seeking a physiotherapist for our rheumatology department. Here, you will meet dedicated and knowledgeable colleagues and have the opportunity to work in a stimulating environment.
The role involves assessment, treatment, and follow-up of patients with various rheumatic diseases such as arthritis, spondyloarthritis, and systemic diseases. The position also includes participating in investigations of patients with suspected or diagnosed rheumatic disease.
You are responsible for designing and supervising individually tailored exercise programs and leading group training sessions in both the pool and the gymnasium.
The work is characterized by close interprofessional collaboration. You will regularly participate in team rounds, team meetings, and network meetings together with physicians, occupational therapists, nurses, and other professional groups.
Care is based on a person-centered approach, focusing on meeting each patient's individual needs. A key part of the work is supporting patients in developing strategies to manage chronic pain and fatigue. Many patients live with chronic diagnoses involving pain and reduced joint mobility, which places high demands on an empathetic, evidence-based, and rehabilitative approach.
Supervision of Swedish and international students as well as junior colleagues is a natural part of the role. The responsibilities also include contributing to the development of care programs and workflows based on evidence and patient needs.
We are looking for someone who
- Is confident and well-grounded in your role as a physiotherapist
- Adapts easily to a changing daily routine and sees opportunities in change
- Enjoys working together with others to achieve common goals and contributes to an attentive and constructive collaboration
- Wants to help develop future healthcare and contribute to clinical research, development, and teaching
