About the role
AVA Solna is undergoing a transformation with a clearer mandate within highly specialized emergency care. We treat patients with acute deterioration of vital functions or unclear conditions requiring investigation, stabilization, increased supervision, monitoring, and treatment. Tasks may include initiating Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV), High-Flow therapy, blood gas sampling, telemetry monitoring, and NEWS 2 with closer intervals. The patient's condition should be potentially reversible or treatable, with an average length of stay of approximately 1.5 days. We also treat patients with tracheostomies and EDA (Emergency Department Access). Common reasons for admission include arrhythmia, pulmonary embolism (PE), intoxication, COPD, sepsis, neutropenic fever, electrolyte disturbances, and smoke inhalation injuries.
We work in two teams, with each team consisting of one nurse and one assistant nurse, jointly responsible for four patients. We work in three shifts according to a preferred schedule:
- Day shift: 07:00–15:30
- Evening shift: 13:00–21:00
- Night shift: 20:30–07:15
At AVA, there is a charge nurse who leads and distributes work during day and evening hours, as well as on weekends (08:30–17:00).
We are looking for you who
- Have knowledge of the mandate of emergency care.
- Are confident in your professional role.
- Are structured and able to prioritize effectively, as patient interactions often require immediate actions, quick decisions, and close follow-up.
- Are positively driven and have a genuine interest in patient- and person-centered care. We value that you see the patient and relatives as a natural part of the team.
- Enjoy a varied pace, are responsible, and have a strong solution focus.
- Have good collaboration skills, are unpretentious, humble, and confident enough to ask for and accept help from the team when needed.
- Are engaged in AVA's development and take initiative for improvement work.
- Keep up to date by accessing available information and guidelines. We expect you to actively seek new knowledge and apply it in practice to drive the development of the unit forward.
