Serafen is a pleasant workplace that is at the forefront of development and renewal work. Serafen's care and nursing home is part of one of Stockholm City's four academic nodes that conduct evidence-based care and nursing, with the ambition that research should be an integrated part of daily work. Our different focuses are somatic care, short-term care, geriatric psychiatry, younger dementia (under 65 years), and dementia. Serafen is located on Kungsholmen, a short walk from T-Centralen station.
As a nurse assistant/care assistant, you have scheduled working hours during the day, evening, and weekend (working hours between 07:00–21:15 depending on day/evening/weekend). We are looking for five summer substitutes, including one night staff member (working hours 21:10–07:10). You must be able to work for at least 4 consecutive weeks during the period week 24 – week 33.
What we offer

To ensure you feel safe and secure in your job, you will go through a two-day introduction program with both theoretical and practical components. Parts of the introduction include training in handling medication prior to delegation, different techniques for moving patients, documenting your work efforts, and learning about basic hygiene routines. We will also cover areas such as cognition and nutrition, so that you gain an understanding of the needs and well-being of the elderly.
Your role
As a nurse assistant/care assistant, you have an important task to make people's daily lives easier, better, and more enjoyable. You provide good care and social support to the elderly in daily life. This includes helping with medication, cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, and personal care such as showering and toilet visits. You also promote the functional ability of the elderly and contribute to a social and active life. In addition to practical and social tasks, you have contact with relatives, participate in care planning, and record events in our documentation system, Parasol.
Your competence and experience
We are looking for you who meet one of the following requirements:
- Upper secondary or vocational education within care and nursing (graduated or ongoing).
- Ongoing studies in nursing or medicine.
- Other education or experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.
You also have:
- Knowledge within care and nursing work.
- Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.
- Computer, mobile, and system proficiency as documentation and reporting are part of the job.
- Are at least 18 years old.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience working in elderly care.
- Experience working in care and nursing.

About the recruitment process

- An agreement on the work period, introduction, and salary is made with the responsible manager at the facility.

- To be employed as a nurse assistant, a certificate of a protected professional title is required. If the certificate is missing, you will be employed as a care assistant.

To work with Stockholm City with elderly and persons with disabilities in their homes, you must show a certificate of no criminal record. The certificate must not be older than 6 months from the date of issue.
The Department for Elderly Care is responsible for assistance handling and various measures that enable the elderly to have their care needs met. Here you will find care and nursing homes, service houses, support for relatives, day activities, and home care services. The administration applies full-time as the norm, and you will be employed within Kungsholmen's Elderly Care.
