RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of School Librarian, you will be responsible for the libraries of all comprehensive schools in the southern area, which includes Skranta, Aggerud, and Häsängen/Stråningsorpsskolan. Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday.

As a School Librarian, you will among other things:

• be responsible for the development of the schools' library activities
• support students and teachers in their information search and reading promotion work
• plan, inspire, and carry out activities and projects that promote reading and information competence
• manage the library's media collection, including purchasing, cataloging, and weeding
• collaborate with school staff to integrate library resources into teaching
• develop and conduct workshops and training in information competence
• be responsible for the school library's digital resources and website
• participate in the school's development work and contribute the library's perspective
• establish and maintain contacts with local libraries and other relevant organizations
• contribute with current research and environmental scanning.

You create conditions for the development of children's and young people's language, imagination, and curiosity through outward-facing work and by building networks.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply for this job have a degree in Library and Information Science. You are expected to possess good IT skills and easily adapt to digital systems. Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in speech and writing to such an extent that you can understand, make yourself understood, and communicate with different target groups, as well as document the activities in writing as required.

You work according to a clear process, organize and plan your work well, complete what has been started, and meet deadlines. You take active initiative in social contexts, step forward, and find it easy to create new relationships. You think outside the box, think in new ways, and find new solutions to old problems. You adapt and find win-win solutions through an unpretentious focus on the common goal.

Previous experience working in a school library, working with multilingual students, and experience with the school's pedagogical mission are meritorious.
