There is now an opportunity to work as a sign language interpreter with us at the National School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

About the position

We offer a position for approximately one year where you will primarily interpret for students, although interpretation may also occur among staff. This is educational interpreting, which requires great flexibility. Teaching takes place either in groups or individually. Your duties include interpreting for the teacher as well as facilitating dialogue between students. An interpreter coordinator is on-site to distribute assignments.

Examples of duties:

• Interpretation at meetings between students, staff, and guardians.
• Interpretation in various teaching situations.
• Interpretation during study visits, performances, and lectures.
• Collaborate with pedagogues to adapt interpretation and teaching to students' different needs.
• Actively support students' learning and school situation.

About the workplace

Tullängsgymnasiet is a modern technical high school located in southern Örebro with high appeal. The school has close cooperation with local businesses. We offer vocational training programs in Construction and Civil Engineering, Computer Communication, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Transport, and HVAC. We also offer the university-preparatory Technology program. Tullängsgymnasiet has approximately 1,400 students and 200 employees.
