About the position

At the Lung Oncology Center, advanced medical procedures and examinations are performed, creating a stimulating and varied work environment. We are constantly working on improvement and development, where your involvement and ideas are valued. Care is based on the patient's needs, with a strong focus on both the patient and their relatives. We offer a secure work environment and promote a positive, collaborative culture where you become an important part of the team.

At the Bronchoscopy Unit, various pulmonary procedures are performed, such as bronchoscopies, insertion of pleural drains, and various types of sampling from the lungs. The procedures are mainly performed on elective patients, but there is also an acute flow where inpatients are received from across the hospital. As a nurse, you are part of a team with other nurses, assistant nurses, and doctors. Together, you work to perform procedures in a patient-safe manner. The role includes handling medications, sterile instruments, technical equipment, and sample material. Propofol sedation is used for some procedures. Special training is offered to gain this competence. The operations also have access to an assistant university nurse with intensive care competence. The team works extensively with development.

The position is during daytime hours, Monday to Friday. There is an opportunity to rotate between the bronchoscopy unit and other units within the operations, such as the day care ward or as a contact nurse – creating good conditions for competence development.

We are looking for you who

• Put patient safety at the center, are empathetic, and attentive to the needs of patients and relatives.
• Are secure, stable, and self-aware, with a good ability to work independently and make own assessments.
• Plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively with a focus on nursing care.
• Collaborate well with others and contribute to a responsive and smooth teamwork.
• Remain calm and maintain focus in acute situations, and can prioritize and make well-founded decisions with patient safety in focus.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Swedish nursing license
• At least two years of experience as a nurse

Merits:

• Specialist education in intensive care, anesthesia, or surgery
• Experience handling medical technical equipment
• Experience with bronchoscopy and/or pulmonary medicine/lung oncology
