Do you want to work in a modern production where every product is unique?

Optileks AB in Rättvik, part of the global lens manufacturer Shamir, manufactures eyeglass lenses for opticians throughout the Nordic region. We do not perform stock jobs or mass production – every order is a unique solution.

You will work in our production manufacturing eyeglass lenses at one of our production stages. This can range from creating the actual lens to final assembly into frames.

The Production Flow

A lens passes through several steps before it is finished:

• RX (Manufacturing) – The lens is manufactured from semi-finished materials
• Tinting – The lens is colored according to customer requirements
• Surface Treatment – Lacquering, hardening, and anti-reflective coating in a high-vacuum process
• Quality Control (QC) – Measurement and control of the result
• Edging – Shaping and mounting into eyeglass frames

You will become part of one of these segments – but the whole process is what matters.

A role where you learn from the ground up

In practice, this position is a trainee role.

It takes approximately 1.5–2 years to become fully independent, as the work is complex and covers everything from production technology to material knowledge and product understanding.

You will start with simpler tasks and gradually build your competence until you are a fully integrated part of the production team.

We work with advanced technology – CNC, polishing, vacuum surface treatment – but often with elements of craftsmanship and fine motor skills.

The pace is driven by the order flow. There is always work to be done, and production is in constant motion.
