Description
The Environmental Strategy Department conducts environmental monitoring in the areas of noise, air, ecology, and water to assess the state of the environment and identify risks and development needs. Within the noise section, we work on developing a city-wide noise map and manage and coordinate the city's action plan against noise. We are also responsible for air monitoring through measurements, analysis, and follow-up of air quality in the city, as well as coordinating the city's action plan for particles.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are a central tool in our work. Using GIS, we analyze, process, and visualize environmental data to deepen our understanding and provide decision-making support.
We are now looking for an Environmental Analyst with GIS competence who wants to contribute to developing and strengthening our work, particularly in air and noise monitoring. The role has a clear focus on GIS but also includes work with databases, data collection systems, and air quality measurements.

We are looking for an Environmental Analyst who will:
- Analyze, process, and quality-assure geographic data related to environmental monitoring
- Develop and manage GIS structures and databases for air and noise data
- Create, update, and publish maps and geographic analyses as decision support
- Develop methods for the analysis, structuring, and visualization of environmental data
- Work with data management in various systems related to air and noise monitoring
- Participate in planning, follow-up, and analysis within air and noise monitoring
- Participate in air quality measurements at the city's monitoring stations
You will be part of a unit working with air and noise monitoring. The work involves both operational data management and analysis, as well as more development-oriented work to improve the use of GIS in environmental monitoring of air and noise. This also includes data collection, follow-up, and practical work at monitoring stations.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who have experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data management. You also have good knowledge of QGIS, FME, geographic analyses, and map production. You have a relevant university degree and good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
It is meritorious if you have experience working in the public sector as well as knowledge of noise or air environment. It is also meritorious if you have worked with one or more of the following areas:
- Airviro Soundplan
- LoggerNet
- Campbell loggers
- Power BI
- traffic data and traffic flows
- measuring instruments for air pollutants and/or noise
The assignment requires that you are analytical and have good communication skills. You are objective, take initiative, and take responsibility for the work moving forward, whether you work alone or together with others. As a person, you are motivated and have a strong commitment and enthusiasm for your work. You have a very good ability to work in close collaboration with others to perform tasks and achieve set goals. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you contribute to a respectful work climate. You follow up and report on results and goal achievement.
