About Norra Stockholm Psychiatry

Norra Stockholm Psychiatry (NSP) is part of the Stockholm County Council Healthcare Region (SLSO) and is a university clinic with a comprehensive educational and research mandate. We offer both emergency and planned specialist psychiatric care for individuals over 18 years of age.

We provide outpatient care in Alvik and at S:t Eriksplan, as well as inpatient care at the S:t Görans Hospital area. The clinic also runs Stockholm's only general psychiatric emergency department for adults, located at the S:t Görans Hospital area.

At our clinic, multidisciplinary teams work with assessment, investigation, and treatment according to national guidelines and regional care programs. We have an active development work and conduct education and research in close collaboration with the Karolinska Institute.

Description

As an intermittent nurse within adult psychiatric inpatient care, you work across the operation and serve as support to several departments based on current staffing and operational needs. The role involves being able to cover absences or reinforcement needs with short notice, thereby being an important resource in the operation.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Psychiatric nursing and patient assessments
  • Medication management and medical follow-ups
  • Coordination and prioritization of daily nursing work
  • Documentation according to current guidelines and legislation
  • Handling acute psychiatric conditions and patient safety issues
  • Working according to the routines and care focus of different departments

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with a few years of experience in the profession. Previous experience in psychiatric inpatient care, preferably within adult psychiatry, is considered an advantage. You are expected to be confident in the nursing role and able to prioritize, make decisions, and lead nursing work in varying care situations.

Since the work involves serving on several different inpatient wards, we see that you are flexible, responsible, and have an easy time adapting to new routines and patient groups. You have good cooperation skills and contribute to a professional and secure work climate for both patients and colleagues. Great importance is attached to personal suitability, maturity, and the ability to work independently based on the operation's needs.

Conditions

Intermittent/as-needed employment. Start date by agreement.

About the recruitment

This is an ongoing recruitment for an intermittent nurse to the operation's inpatient wards. Selection and contact with candidates occur continuously based on current staffing needs.

For patient-related work within the Stockholm County Council Healthcare Region:

  • A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
  • Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
  • Requires, in addition to a Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
