Join us as we build the future of psychiatry. In April 2021, we moved into our new psychiatric hospital, where we are now broadening our competence and bringing more specialties under one roof. Inpatient care consists of three different wards: 30A – acute psychiatric care and intensive care (PIVA), 30B – addiction center, and 40C – general psychiatric care. We also have a 24/7 emergency department, an ECT clinic, an Esketamine clinic, a LARO clinic (medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependence), and a County Unit for Eating Disorders providing day care/outpatient care. Inpatient care is tasked with offering qualified diagnostics, treatment, and specific psychiatric nursing in inpatient care. The role also involves collaborating with neighboring care providers such as outpatient care, the municipality, addiction care, and primary care. On the ward, nurses, healthcare assistants, occupational therapists, psychotherapists, and doctors work in teams together with the patient. We actively work to reduce coercion in care and to prevent threats and violence.

We are looking for

We are looking for you who are trained as a healthcare assistant (undersköterska) with good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. We would prefer that you have studied 200 credits in psychiatry (Psychiatry 2/Psychiatry B). It is an advantage if you have experience working as a healthcare assistant in psychiatric care. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities.

What you will work with

Psychiatric nursing is in focus, and we work with key worker models to strengthen the relationship with the patient and benefit person-centered care. As a healthcare assistant, you are responsible for observations, checking parameters, blood sampling, ADL assistance, and other support through conversation and contact with relatives. You will have an important role in participating in planning together with the patient and your care team. Documentation is a natural part of the work, as well as participating in the development of nursing care on the ward. The role also includes mentoring healthcare assistant students. We are hiring for inpatient psychiatric care, acute/general/addiction wards.

Information about the position

We offer you a permanent full-time position with working hours scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends. Start date according to agreement. Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreements.
