About the Unit
The Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS) is looking for you to become our new Radio/Telecommunications Engineer. You will belong to the Implementation Unit South (GE Syd) with a location in Hästveda. GE Syd operates to ensure the Swedish Armed Forces' ability to communicate and command, 24/7, year-round. The unit consists of approximately 170 employees distributed across 7 departments on 6 locations within the Military Region South (MR S) area.
We work in a developing environment characterized by ambition, technical competence, and opportunities for personal development. In this role, you will naturally receive the guidance and supplementary training required to give you the best prerequisites for performing your work.
Main Responsibilities
You will, among other things, perform operation and maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' communication systems, which are part of the monitoring of Sweden's territory. The work is primarily carried out at the Swedish Armed Forces' unmanned facilities; therefore, business travel and overnight stays in other locations are common. International system support trips may also occur.
- Independently or in work teams, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, commissioning, installation, and modification of the Swedish Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Radio equipment.
- Repair work in masts and towers.
- The role also involves collaborating with colleagues in other technical areas as well as external suppliers.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Approved upper secondary or post-secondary education with a focus on electricity/telecommunications/data communication, or equivalent knowledge assessed by the employer as comparable.
- Basic knowledge in IT/TCP/IP and electrical theory.
- Good ability to communicate in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
- Category B driver's license, without restrictions.
- Computer literacy.
- Good physical condition.

MERITORIOUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience and knowledge of electronics, measurement technology, network technology.
- Experience working with radio and transmission.
- Experience troubleshooting in electricity and IT.
- Experience with cabling/installation work/commissioning.
- Experience working at heights.
- BE-CE driver's license.
- Military service certificate.
- Completed conscription or GMU/GSU.
- Knowledge of Swedish Armed Forces equipment/material.

Other Information
Employment Type: Permanent civil service position, starting with a six-month probationary period for those not currently employed within the Swedish Armed Forces.
Work Hours: Full time. Unconventional working hours and travel within the role may occur, and on-call duties are also included in the responsibilities at a later stage.
Work Location: Hästveda; travel to other locations in the country occurs.
Start Date: According to agreement.
In the Swedish Armed Forces, this position is referred to as a Telecommunications Engineer.
Requirement to complete mast/tower working-at-heights training with a passing grade during the probationary period for continued employment.
