Parish Assistant for Children's Ministry

We are looking for a Parish Assistant for the children's ministry at the Church of Sweden Malå for a permanent position.

We are looking for you who are passionate about working with children and young people and want to help create a safe and meaningful activity within the parish. In this role, you will meet children of various ages, from small children together with their parents to school-aged children and teenagers.

You will plan and lead activities such as crafts and creative projects, play and community gatherings, as well as services with singing, stories, and devotion. You will be responsible for groups and participate in confirmation work together with colleagues. In your interactions with children and young people, you will be a secure and present adult who contributes to an environment where everyone feels welcome and significant.

The work is primarily located at the parish center, where you, together with colleagues, will run and develop the activities. You will also meet with guardians and contribute to building good relationships within the parish.

Education and Experience

It is meritorious if you are educated as a youth worker (fritidspedagog) or have other equivalent pedagogical education.

Personal Qualities

You are sensitive, responsible, and engaged. You enjoy collaborating with different professional groups and can work both independently and together with others. You have the ability to plan and lead groups and enjoy working with children of various ages.

Working Hours

The working hours are variable and include some evening and weekend duties.

Employment Conditions

Permanent employment with a six-month probationary period. Employment level 80 to 100 percent according to agreement.

Other

You must be a member of the Church of Sweden. A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) will be requested.

A B-driver's license is meritorious.
