Job Description:

The municipal preschools in our municipality are organized into five preschool areas: three in Kungsängen, one in Bro, and one in Tjusta. In total, we currently have sixteen preschools and two overarching municipal groups for a smaller number of children. Each preschool area is led by a principal, and we have one or two special educators and deputy principals within each area. The preschools collaborate closely and share a common operational plan, but each area has unique goals based on specific needs.

This position is organized centrally under the Resource Unit (Central Child and Student Health Services), but the work takes place in close proximity to the leadership of the preschools and primary schools, as well as the preschool principals. Your direct manager will be the Head of the Resource Unit.

The work is carried out at the group and organizational levels in collaboration with preschool leadership and educators, with a focus on strengthening language development for all children in our preschools.

Who we are looking for:

As a speech therapist, you work with group-oriented support for the municipal preschools, handling varied questions and tasks within the preschool's mission. You bring a speech therapy perspective and work closely together with special educators and pedagogues. Your main focus is to work with groups of children who have speech disorders and are in linguistic vulnerability. Your focus is primarily promotional and preventive, but also remedial to meet needs and support the children's language development. Your assignment includes being a support resource and contributing to the preschools' other development work. Examples include mapping, educating, mentoring, assisting with materials, supporting staff, and finding methods for working with children with speech disorders and linguistic vulnerability.

• We are looking for you who are a licensed speech therapist.
• Have experience in mentoring and consultation in your role as a speech therapist.
• Have good pedagogical skills regarding children's different prerequisites for acquiring knowledge.
• Knowledge and experience of multilingualism is meritorious.

We assume that you have very good IT skills, good knowledge of the Office package, and the ability to familiarize yourself with new systems and programs. Experience from municipal operations, other politically controlled operations, is meritorious, primarily from preschools.

As a speech therapist, you take great responsibility for your tasks. You are a flexible person with very good collaboration skills, able to handle many issues simultaneously and complete them according to set goals and deadlines. You are pedagogical, curious, communicative, collaboration-oriented, flexible, and attentive to the needs of the children, staff, and surroundings. You have a good ability to create structure, plan, and follow up on your work, ensuring that what you work on aligns with the preschools' regular teaching and systematic quality work, and anchoring this with the school leadership.

You easily grasp the big picture, prioritize, and quickly familiarize yourself with new areas based on the needs of different preschools. You prioritize being where the children are, both indoors and outdoors, and use playfulness as a strategy to build relationships. It is important to you to meet the children where they are, and you gladly participate in the teaching led by the pedagogues, where you wear special "language glasses" that you use in your speech therapy assignment. You see the whole picture, appreciate collaborating across organizational boundaries, can adapt to changed circumstances, and solve challenges in a constructive and professional manner. You are service-oriented, good at making contacts, and collaborating.

Salary: Individual monthly salary.
