The Role of Care Assistant

The position involves working on a care ward. We work in teams where you, as a care assistant, are part of the nursing care together with nurses and other professions. Within forensic psychiatry, we strive to create a calm and secure care environment for our patients and employees. The position is a one-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension. Start date by agreement. Working hours, day, evening, night, and weekend shifts according to a rotating schedule.

Your Future Workplace

Forensic psychiatry consists of two inpatient wards in security class 3, with a total of 24 places; the position concerns one of these wards. On the unit, nurses, treatment assistants, care assistants, occupational therapists, counselors, psychologists, and doctors work. We work in teams for patients who are transferred to forensic psychiatric care. There is also an outpatient unit within forensic psychiatry.

The Psychiatric Clinic in Jönköping is one of the county's largest clinics with both outpatient and inpatient care within specialist psychiatry. The clinic offers psychiatric specialist care for residents over 18 years old. Parts of the clinic also serve as a county resource responsible for psychiatric intensive care, addiction care, forensic psychiatry, and emergency services, where we handle acute cases within both the adult psychiatric clinic and the child and adolescent psychiatric clinic.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are trained as a care assistant/nursing assistant. If you have previous experience from forensic psychiatry or other psychiatric involuntary care, this is a big plus.

To thrive with us, we believe you are a person who is engaged and attentive. Furthermore, you are secure and stable and take responsibility for your tasks. Since you will meet many different people, it is important that you have an easy time building relationships and have good cooperation skills. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is meritorious. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
