Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
Do you want to make a real difference this summer? Come and work with us at Södermalm's Care and Residential Homes! We have 6 care and residential homes located on Södermalm. Two of our homes focus on dementia care, while four have a primarily somatic focus but also offer some places for dementia patients. One of our homes also provides short-term care.
With us, you will find one of the most important jobs of the summer, where your contribution is visible and appreciated every day. We offer a pleasant work environment where you can grow in your professional role and contribute to ensuring our residents live a dignified and secure life.
What we offer
To ensure you feel welcome and confident in our routines, we provide an introduction that includes both theoretical and practical training. Together, we will go through the tasks included in your daily work – such as care, medication delegation, reporting, documentation, as well as lifting techniques and ergonomics with various aids. The introduction lasts one full day and is held in May.
As a nursing assistant/care assistant, you will have scheduled working hours during days, evenings, and weekends. We are also looking for night staff. We prefer that you can work at least 4 consecutive weeks during the period of June-August.
When you start your work, you will have a supervisor/mentor who will guide you and walk alongside you during your first shifts to get to know both the residents and the routines.
Your role
As a nursing assistant or care assistant, you will become an important part of our team, where we together create a secure and meaningful existence for our residents. We work based on assistance decisions and individual implementation plans, where the individual's participation and self-determination are always guiding principles for us.
A typical day with us means supporting residents in their daily lives with everything from good care and support to social interaction. This can involve personal care, support during meals, or contributing to a meaningful day through activities and walks in our local area. With a listening and humble approach, you work to ensure residents feel secure and have a high quality of life based on their own wishes. The role also includes social documentation to ensure that we together provide care of the highest quality.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for you who meet one of the following requirements:
- Upper secondary or vocational education within care and support (graduated or ongoing).
- Ongoing studies in nursing or medicine.
- Other education or experience that the employer considers equivalent.
You also have:
- Knowledge within care and support work.
- Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.
- Computer, mobile, and system proficiency for documentation and reporting.
- At least 18 years of age.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience working in elderly care.
- Experience working in healthcare and support.
We place great importance on the following personal qualities:
Stable: You are secure, stress-resistant, and possess personal maturity.
Service-oriented: You are attentive to the needs of the care recipient.
Team player: You are willing to share knowledge and are open to learning from others.
Empathetic: You have a genuine interest in working in the profession.
Flexible: You adapt easily to new situations.
Your application and recruitment process
- To focus on the right competence, you do not need to attach a cover letter. Instead, we base our selection on your CV and the selection questions you answer in the application.
- We have ongoing selection and quick feedback via email and SMS.
- First interview: If you move forward, you will be invited to a shorter interview conducted digitally via Zoom or by phone.
- On-site meeting: If you proceed after the first interview, you will be booked for a personal meeting at the facility.
- Police Certificate: We will request a police certificate according to current guidelines.
- ID Card: We will ask to see your professional license/ID.
- Protected Job Title: For employment as a nursing assistant, a valid certificate is required; otherwise, you will be employed as a care assistant.
