You are warmly welcome to apply for a fixed-term position with us at Väsby Psychiatric Clinic 1 – a well-functioning clinic that offers excellent opportunities to broaden your knowledge by meeting many different patient groups within our general psychiatric practice.

Our clinic serves a broad spectrum of patients, giving you the opportunity to follow most diagnoses you may encounter in psychiatry, such as depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and neuropsychiatric disabilities.

The clinic is located in modern premises near Väsby commuter train station, approximately 30 minutes from Stockholm and Uppsala. The team includes physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries.

Väsby Psychiatric Clinic 1 is part of Psychiatry Northwest, a university clinic in the northwestern part of the Stockholm County Healthcare Region (SLSO). Our goal is to provide high-quality treatment to our patients while creating a work environment that is pleasant and inspiring for our staff. Collegiality, knowledge sharing, an open climate, competence development, and continuous updates from psychiatric research are important factors for our physicians, and we actively work to maintain these.

Job Responsibilities

Your role as a resident physician will involve standard resident duties, including psychiatric assessment and treatment. The work is carried out under the supervision of a specialist in psychiatry.

Employment Type

Special fixed-term employment until the end of December 2026, with possible extension. Start date by agreement, but earlier availability is preferred. Full-time position, 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

You are a licensed physician. Furthermore, you have a genuine interest in adult psychiatry, psychiatric diagnostics, and treatment. Experience in psychiatry is an advantage.

The position will be filled provided it does not need to be reserved for internal relocation, according to current regulations.

For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Region (SLSO):

  • A register check is applied before the decision on employment, according to SLSO’s overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
  • Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new hire health examination according to current directives, conducted by the occupational health service before employment.
  • In addition to a Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply as guidelines for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
