BB Danderyd, which is part of the Women's Health and Obstetrics department, actively works to develop and modernize postnatal care, including through digital solutions and family-centered care. The focus is on patient safety, quality, and the new family's total care experience.

Postnatal care at BB Danderyd includes:

  • Ward 16 - Antenatal and medical postnatal care
  • Ward 17 - Medical postnatal care responsible for planned caesarean sections

Job Description

As a midwife in antenatal/postnatal care, you are responsible for the care and support of 4–5 women/families in collaboration with a nursing assistant. The work involves, among other things:

  • Providing individually adapted information and support to the new family
  • Promoting skin-to-skin contact, bonding, and a secure start in parenthood
  • Providing professional and correct support regarding breastfeeding
  • Working person-centered based on the family's needs and wishes

Qualifications

Registered Midwife or Registered Nurse who has completed at least one term of the midwifery program.

Very good oral and written skills in Swedish.

About the Department

Women's Health and Obstetrics is one of the hospital's largest departments with approximately 600 employees. We provide acute and specialized care within both outpatient and inpatient care. The department is divided into the sections of obstetrics and gynecology.

The obstetric section includes delivery, specialist maternal care with ultrasound clinic, antenatal unit, elective cuts, and postnatal care. We are one of Sweden's largest delivery units.

The gynecological section consists of an outpatient clinic, emergency clinic, operating department, and a care ward. We perform benign gynecology with a focus on minimally invasive surgery. We have an NHV assignment within advanced pelvic floor surgery. On our operating department, both planned and acute interventions are performed, including robotic surgery.

We have a significant R&D assignment with the education of medical students, midwifery students, and visiting doctors from general medicine and emergency medicine. We have a large clinical research activity with at least two newly registered doctoral students every year.
