Welcome to Globala Gymnasiet!

Globala Gymnasiet is a upper secondary school for students who want to understand, change, and improve the world. Here, the commitment to sustainability and justice issues is strong – among students as well as among teaching and other staff. Our overarching goal is to provide our students with the prerequisites for active citizenship and the opportunity to influence future development, even during their schooling.

We place great emphasis on continuous teaching development, and half of the teaching consists of subject-integrated and interdisciplinary projects. At our school, the commitment to our students and their learning is strong; we have a strong sharing culture, and collaboration is the starting point in our daily work. Our goal is that students who graduate from us think creatively, critically, and analytically. They should experience that they develop together with and learn from other people. They should work to realize their visions and reflect on their actions. They understand the global world situation, both problems and opportunities for change, and understand the meaning of sustainable development and global justice. We also actively work on good student relationships and significant student influence.

We are a municipal upper secondary school located at Zinkensdamm on Södermalm. We consist of approximately 600 students and 60 employees. The school offers four national programs and one IM (International Program) education:

• The Economics Program with a focus on economics, profile in global entrepreneurship
• The Arts Program with a focus on aesthetics and media, social sciences profile
• The Natural Science Program with a focus on natural sciences, profile in sustainable development
• The Social Sciences Program with a focus on social sciences, global profile
• Language Introduction for newly arrived students

Your role

As a school nurse, you are responsible for performing the student health service's medical interventions in the school according to current legislation, the city's program for student health work, which includes the management system for the student health service's medical interventions (EMI) and the regulations and guidelines from Central EMI.

The school nurse's task is, based on their medical competence, to create the best possible conditions for students' learning, development, and health in collaboration with other professions at the school. As a school nurse at Globala Gymnasiet, you have a key role in the school's student health team to promote and prevent students' health towards a successful study path.

You have close collaboration with the rest of the student health service, i.e., school counselor, special education teachers, study and career counselors, social pedagogue, and school doctor, teachers, mentors, and school management. You also work for collaboration with guardians and external actors. Furthermore, you are engaged and driven with an interest in health and sustainability issues.

Together with the school doctor and in consultation with the school management, you are responsible for the organization of the student health service's medical interventions in the school. The work involves collaboration with students, guardians, school staff, as well as organizations and authorities outside the school.

Your competence and experience

We place great importance on experience of working with language introduction and attendance-promoting measures. We also see that you have experience of good collaboration with school nurse colleagues as you will collaborate closely together with our regular school nurse to plan and structure your work.
