ABOUT THE ROLE

To our production facility in Åhus, we are now looking for an experienced and engaged Head of Electrical Engineering who wants to take overall responsibility for our electrical installations and our ongoing automation journey in Åhus and Nöbbelöv. In this role, you will have a broad, developmental, and varied position where you combine specialist competence with leadership. You are expected to work both operationally and strategically, combining personnel responsibility, production technology development, project work, and maintenance within the area.

The role requires that you hold the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority’s authorization (AL).

Main areas of responsibility and tasks:

You play a central role in ensuring high availability and efficiency in our processes – while contributing to a safe and secure working environment. Your main areas of responsibility will be to lead and develop your employees, to continue developing the level of industrial electrical engineering in our production facility, and to serve as the responsible person for electrical installations within the company. You lead a team with three direct reports within electrical engineering, as well as an Automation Manager with a team of nine people.

Your areas of responsibility

  • Have personnel responsibility and lead a team within electrical engineering and automation
  • Be responsible for regulatory compliance for electrical installation work, both high and low voltage
  • Act as the responsible person for electrical installations and ensure safe operation and maintenance of our electrical systems
  • Responsible for and develop our self-control program (EKP) in accordance with the Electrical Safety Act
  • Create, manage, and develop electrical technical specifications
  • Drive systematic troubleshooting and improvement work
  • Provide technical support to the production and maintenance organization

Your main tasks

  • Monitor technical development within electrical engineering, at the component level and within standards and norms
  • Develop and quality-assure electrical technical specifications and installations for buildings and machinery
  • Provide technical support to our production
  • Lead and develop work within industrial electrical engineering (electrical, automation, instrumentation)
  • Initiate and drive improvement work that streamlines working methods
  • Production technology development work
  • Auditing and regulatory compliance within our facilities, such as testing, periodic controls, and defect correction of devices with associated equipment in the facilities
  • Responsible for occupational health and safety work within the area of responsibility
  • Handle external contacts with suppliers, consultants, authorities, as well as internal functions such as production and facility management

This role may be right for you if you have:

  • A university-level engineering degree in electrical/automation or another relevant field
  • The Swedish Electrical Safety Authority’s authorization as an electrician for at least low voltage (AL)
  • Experience in project management and electrical installation work
  • Previous leadership experience, preferably as Head of Electrical Engineering/Operations Manager or similar
  • Very good knowledge of laws, standards, and occupational health and safety work within the electrical field

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience from automated manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of ATEX/explosion protection
  • High voltage

You can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English. A driver’s license for a passenger car is required.
