The Food business area at AFRY is characterized by long industry experience and high competence in project management, process design, plant design, automation, and quality assurance. As one of AFRY's strategically selected segments, Food is a area where we are making special global investments.

Our business idea is to both manage and further develop our project business as well as our total assignments. We are in a strong growth phase and continue to expand, both nationally and internationally.

About the Role

As an Automation Engineer with us in Malmö, you will work closely with experienced colleagues on assignments directed towards the food industry. Together, we help our customers develop, streamline, and optimize their operations.

We work in projects, where each assignment is based on the customer's specific needs and conditions – which makes every project unique. Therefore, we appreciate that you are flexible, adaptable, and enjoy new challenges.

Examples of tasks:

• PLC programming
• System engineering and technical solutions
• Quotation work
• Electrical design
• Project management
• Commissioning
• Service and maintenance

The work group consists of 14 people with different roles, where about half work primarily with PLC programming and half with electrical design. Most have long experience within the industry, and we have a strong culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing. There is much competence to learn from here – and good opportunities for you to develop, from junior to a very skilled automation engineer.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• At least 3 years of experience as an automation engineer, preferably within the food industry
• Relevant education in automation and/or electrical design, or equivalent work experience
• Valid driver's license (Category B)
• Good ability to read and understand electrical drawings
• Experience with PLC programming

You work in a structured manner and take responsibility for your work, both independently and in teams. At the same time, you are happy to share your ideas and experiences and have a positive attitude towards new challenges.

You master Swedish and English well, both in speech and writing, and are accustomed to working in a project form.

Travel occurs in the role, on average about 20–40 days per year, both within Sweden and internationally.

Merits

• Experience with Siemens Classic and/or TIA Portal
• Experience as an operations technician with PLC systems
• General programming experience or a great interest in programming
• Experience with electrical design tools such as ElProCAD, EPLAN, or equivalent
