About the Workplace

Järfälla Municipality has chosen to co-organize all licensed personnel working within elderly care and disability services into a single unit: the Health and Medical Care Unit (HSE). You will have your employment at HSE, and your working days will be based at our care and nursing homes in the municipality.

The Health and Medical Care Unit consists of a highly competent work group that works together with joy in work, a sense of responsibility, and lack of hierarchy. We help each other advance health care and occupational therapy. Through joint meetings, we ensure that we share each other's knowledge and create a strong sense of community.

Responsibilities

In the role of occupational therapist with us, you will work together with physiotherapists, nurses, and care staff at the residences. Together, we work to create a good quality of life for the elderly and ensure we add value to their daily lives. As an occupational therapist, you will find, together with the residents, the best ways to use their own abilities in everyday life. You support and motivate individuals to develop and maintain their physical, cognitive, and social abilities themselves.

Main responsibilities:

ADL (Activities of Daily Living) assessment.
Functional assessment.
Supervision and guidance for care staff.
Support/guidance regarding cognition, communication, and environment.
Prescription/provision of assistive devices.
Documentation in patient records.
Mobility training for staff.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are passionate about autonomy for persons with increased needs. You are a licensed occupational therapist with preferably 1 year of professional experience. We would like you to have previous experience working within elderly care. You express yourself well both verbally and in writing and are clear in your communication. Naturally, you have good computer skills.

The work assumes that you are secure and stable, have good collaboration skills, and a structured approach to work. It is important that you thrive working independently and adapt easily to changing circumstances. You are positive, engaged, see every individual, and have the ability to understand what each person needs!
