The Care and Social Administration is looking for a nurse for the night organization

The position offers stimulating and varied work where you have the entire Strömsund Municipality (excluding Frostviken) as your catchment area.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you collaborate with basic staff, other nurses, and other healthcare providers in the joint work regarding our patients.

Our patients live in care, support, and housing facilities as well as in ordinary housing. You use a car in the service, and the work includes both planned and unplanned home visits. Additionally, delegation, medication management, and supervision of both staff and patients are included.

According to an agreement with Region Jämtland/Härjedalen, the municipality is responsible for primary care readiness during evenings and nights, which provides increased variation and breadth in patient cases.

The work is varied, and you meet patients in different life situations with varying needs. You will assess healthcare needs, prioritize interventions, and provide some telephone advice. Your role includes delegating, giving advice, and supervising employees in patient care. You work in close collaboration with different professions within your own operations as well as with other healthcare providers. Working hours are scheduled for evenings and nights, including two weekend shifts per six-week period.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and want to be part of our team during night work. It is meritorious if you have further education as a specialist nurse with a focus on district nursing, palliative care, or elderly care. Further merit if you have experience in home healthcare.

As a person, you are stable and can maintain calm even in stressful situations. You are sensitive to patients and relatives and have an easy time building trusting relationships – something that is especially important at night when you often work independently. You need to be self-reliant but also team-oriented, as good collaboration with colleagues, night staff, and other professional groups is crucial for a functioning night shift.

The work requires good medical competence as well as good computer skills and documentation ability. You also need to be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing.

A driver's license (Category B) is required.
