We are looking for nurses for interim and extra work on board the Silja Symphony, with good opportunities for permanent employment. On board, you will work according to a 2:3 agreement, meaning 14 days of work followed by 21 days of leave.

As a nurse on board, you will work with both passengers and crew in a varied role with significant responsibility and close collaboration with several departments. Your responsibilities include providing care, administering sick and fit-to-work reports, and coordinating with occupational health, HR, and managers regarding health issues. The role also involves ordering medical supplies and medications, leading medical drills, and working in accordance with maritime regulations for safety, protection, and the environment. You report directly to the Chief Officer and the Captain and work closely with the department heads on board.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a licensed nurse with substantial professional experience, preferably in emergency care.
  • Has strong administrative skills and works in a structured and independent manner.
  • Is flexible, stress-resistant, and service-oriented, with the ability to build good relationships.
  • Fluently speaks and writes both Swedish and English (knowledge of Finnish or other languages is an advantage).
  • Has experience in district care and collaboration with occupational health services (advantageous).

Since you are part of the safety organization on board, it is important that you have good physical fitness. To work on board, you must be resident in Sweden, hold citizenship in an EU/EEA country, and possess a valid medical certificate for seafarers as well as a passport. Background checks are conducted as part of the recruitment process, and alcohol and drug tests may be performed according to our safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment on board.
