At Garnis Elderly Care Center, you will encounter patients with varying needs in an environment characterized by development, collaboration, and a strong team spirit. We are now looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team, focusing on short-term care.

About the Role

Garnis Short-term Care receives patients who, for a period, need extra support to manage daily life with a focus on remaining in their own homes. This may involve readjustment before returning home after a hospital stay, needs for palliative care, respite for relatives, or rotation care. At our facility, every individual receives secure and professional care.

As an Occupational Therapist, there is also the opportunity to contribute to other parts of the Elderly Care Center's operations, such as the Senior Square and day activities, providing a varied and stimulating work content.

Here, your workday is filled with meetings with people from different backgrounds, with various diagnoses and disabilities who need your specific expertise. Variation, development, and teamwork side by side with physiotherapists, nurses, assistant nurses, and the discharge team are at the center. Here, you truly make a difference.

Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist here, you work daily close to the patients and in a team with other professionals at the short-term care unit. Prior to patients' discharge, you collaborate with the home care rehabilitation unit.

Your responsibilities include:

• Assessments of activity and functional capacity
• Prescription and fitting of assistive devices
• Planning and implementation of individualized rehabilitation
• Supervision, instruction, and training of staff
• Conducting home visits to assess home environment and assistive device needs
• Daily and active participation in teamwork and care planning

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist
• Experience from rehabilitation, municipal healthcare, or short-term care is meritorious
• Ability to work both independently and in a team
• A solution-focused and flexible approach to work
• Good communication skills and professional demeanor
• Valid driver's license (Category B) is required
