We are now looking for a Library Social Worker for Agnes Kulturhus – Gävle Municipality's new initiative focusing on culture, education, and democracy. Here you will have a unique opportunity to combine social work with the library's societal mission in one of the municipality's most public environments.

The position is a project employment for 1 year with the possibility of extension.

About Agnes Kulturhus

Agnes Kulturhus is a new arena for culture and education in the heart of central Gävle. Here, the city library, art gallery, cinema, and several other cultural activities are gathered under one roof. Together, we are creating a place where everyone feels welcome, can meet, grow, and access societal resources.

As one of the few completely open public environments, the library reflects society at large. Our democratic mission means that everyone should have access to knowledge, culture, and support. To strengthen our safety and customer service work, we are now looking for a Library Social Worker who wants to help develop our preventive work, both operationally and strategically.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Library Social Worker, you will play a central role in creating safety and good encounters in the library's open environments. You will work closely with both visitors and staff and serve as an important link to other actors in society.

The role includes:

• Proactive and relationship-building work with people in social vulnerability.
• Supporting other staff in customer service and safety issues as needed.
• Referring and informing about relevant societal actors and support functions.
• Staffing the information desk as needed to stay close to the daily operations and needs of the activity.
• Developing networks with internal and external partners.

The position includes some weekend and evening duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in Social Work (Socionom) or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Experience in preventive and relationship-building work.
• Experience with and enjoyment of working in a public environment with many different types of encounters.
• Experience and confidence in meeting people with mental health issues and social vulnerability.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
