Do you want to help develop Backbeatbolaget's operations that promote creativity and cultural exchanges? Backbeatbolaget is looking for a passionate and engaged assistant to contribute to creative youth activities and create a dynamic meeting place for young people at Kulturhuset Kungen in Sandviken.

About the project

Backbeatbolaget runs the youth project Kreativa Labbet (The Creative Lab) with the goal of creating a long-term sustainable cultural meeting place for young people. We are inspired by DIY culture and work with art, music, and film as our focus. The project consists of two parts: open creative meetings for young people on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, as well as meetings and workshops with professional cultural practitioners for our art, music, and film groups.

The employment covers 20 percent, starting August 15, 2026, and extending to December 2026, with the possibility of extension. Evening and weekend work is included in the position.

Responsibilities

As a staff member in the project, you will have a versatile role with both practical and social tasks. In dialogue with the work group, you will:

• Assist the project coordinator in planning and implementation.
• Participate actively at Kreativa Labbet during weekday evenings and weekends.
• Support and encourage participants in their creative work.
• Work practically in the building, for example, by rearranging furniture, hanging curtains, repairing simple furnishings, and keeping the premises tidy.
• Work during concerts and events.
• Transport and purchase materials.

Note that the position is physically demanding and involves a lot of practical work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is over 18 years old.
• Has an interest in culture and youth participation.
• Enjoys practical work.
• Is proactive, flexible, and a good team player.
• Has the ability to work independently and take responsibility.
• Has a driver's license and a car.

The following are meritorious:

• Experience from association life or voluntary engagement.
• Previous experience organizing festivals, concerts, and exhibitions.
• Worked within cultural or youth activities.
• Interest and knowledge about film.
• Availability to work additional hours during the autumn.
