In Upplands Väsby Municipality, we have a central student health organization focused on increasing equity and ensuring the quality of student health services in all schools. As a school nurse, you are a vital part of both the local and central child and student health services.

About us

The Education Department is the largest department in Upplands Väsby Municipality, with over 730 employees responsible for all types of operations. In addition to all municipal schools, the department includes the Central Child and Student Health Unit, Support and Development, and Finance and Administration. You will belong to the Central Child and Student Health Unit, which consists of approximately 25 employees. Central coordination clarifies the mission and enables support and development for the various professions in the student health teams at the schools.

About the position

This role is a temporary position for the autumn term, with the possibility of extension. The school nurse is an important part of the school's student health team and collaborates with other professions in student health work, which is led by the principal. The main task of the student health team is to work health-promoting and preventive to create a learning environment and the best possible conditions that promote students' learning, development, and health.

As a school nurse, you work based on Upplands Väsby Municipality's basic program for student health. The medical component includes, among other things, health visits, open reception, administering vaccinations, and planning school doctor clinics.

As a school nurse, you collaborate with other school staff, guardians, other activities, and authorities outside the school to create a safe school environment that promotes health and learning.

As a newly hired school nurse, you will participate in an induction program and be offered regular meetings with the municipality's other school nurses and centrally employed student health personnel.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for you who:

• Are a licensed nurse with specialist education in health and medical care for children and adolescents, district nurse, or school nurse.
• Are computer literate (you must be able to work in basic computer programs and have experience with electronic patient records).

Previous experience as a school nurse is an advantage.

As a person, you are collaborative, having a good ability to adapt in order to achieve common goals. Furthermore, you are structured, which for us means that you work according to a clear process, independently organize and plan your work well, complete what has been started, and meet deadlines. We also believe that you need to be relationship-building and stable to fit the role, demonstrated by taking active initiative in social contexts, stepping forward, easily creating new relationships, and handling stress in a constructive way.
