Your Role
In this position, you will work days, evenings, weekends, split shifts, and occasional resource shifts. You need to be flexible and prepared for the possibility of working across the entire Welfare sector during certain periods, not just within the Kastanjen home care area. We collaborate closely with all home care groups in Söderhamn Municipality.
The role of a care assistant is to meet the individual's basic and specific care and nursing needs. The role involves safeguarding and respecting everyone's right to privacy, self-determination, participation, and individual adaptation to enable the user to live as independent a life as possible. Tasks may include assisting with toilet visits, showering, dressing, light cooking, cleaning, and accompaniment. It may also become relevant to perform medical tasks as delegated by a nurse. By providing care and social contact, you become an important part of the user's daily life.
Workplace Description
Home Care Kastanjen is a cheerful group of assistant nurses and care assistants based out of our home care facility in Ljusne. We consist of three work teams divided geographically. As a candidate for this position, you should have a sense of the equal value of all people regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, or age.
Your Qualifications
You are trained as a care assistant with at least 800 approved upper secondary school credits in selected courses for the care and nursing program. Previous experience in care and nursing work is an advantage. Since computers and telephones are used as work tools, it is necessary that you have computer and telephone proficiency and that you master the Swedish language in both speech and writing. A Category B driver's license is required for the position.
As a person, you see opportunities, take initiative, share your knowledge and experiences with colleagues, and consider it natural to contribute to a positive work climate. Furthermore, you need to be able to meet each individual's needs by adapting easily to changing circumstances. It is important that you are also good at cooperating, are solution-focused, and understand the importance of good treatment in all situations. Finally, you have good empathy and can quickly put yourself in someone else's perspective or situation.
