The Elderly Care in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction.

The care and nursing residence Sjöjungfrun is located in Tomtebo at the southern tip of Nydalasjön, approximately 6 km from Umeå city center. The residence has 48 apartments distributed over three floors. Each floor has two departments with 8 apartments per department. The residence also has a beautiful garden where outdoor activities take place in the summer as often as the weather permits.

Your responsibilities

With a professional approach and good treatment, you assist our tenants in their daily lives. The resident's right to influence is in focus, and you contribute to ensuring that interventions are carried out with good quality according to the decisions made.

You work person-centered and support the resident in various areas depending on their needs; for example, with showering, laundry, cleaning, meals, and other services. The duties also include care with various medical tasks based on, among other things, delegation from the responsible nurse. You are also responsible for documenting actions, events, and health conditions.

You have scheduled working hours during the day, evening, and weekends.

About you

We are looking for you who have experience working in care and nursing. We would like you to be trained as a nursing assistant, care aide, or have equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways. We also view it positively if you have experience in elderly care, dementia care, and medical delegation.

To communicate with users, relatives, and colleagues, read and write care documentation, and receive medical delegation, you must have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

We want you to be empathetic with great understanding and respectful treatment. You should be able to work independently but also have a good ability to collaborate with colleagues and different professions.

Lifting heavy loads occurs, so transfer aids must be used. Smoking may occur at the workplace, so you should not be allergic.
